Your background in Electric Vehicle CANape engineering will be a huge advantage to our Peterborough, Cambridgeshire based client. This is a senior level electric vehicle engineer twelve-month contract. You can demonstrate substantial hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical diagnostic/problem solving skills in the EV engineering environment. You will be working with both the client & third-party customers to ensure a reliable product is developed and validated in line with the customer's requirements. You will take ownership of the mechanical and electrical machine integration, commissioning, and testing.

*The work split is one day at home and four days a week on site with the EV machinery and other likeminded team members.

Responsibilities

*To assist in the development and validation of high voltage system integration into prototype machines
*Produce high and low voltage harnesses to an engineering schematic
*Diagnose and troubleshoot a range of faults on both high voltage and machine CANbus systems
*Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
*Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic)

Skills

*Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (ideally electrical/electronic) or equivalent experience
*Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
*Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of machine sub systems
*Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities, with the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances
*Prepared to undertake further required training/learning to aid in personal development through the Electrification programme
*The ability to analyse and understand complex electrical architectures
*Previous experience in use of Vector CANape
*Deep technical understanding of High Voltage Systems
*Proven experience of leading EV Projects
*Industry experience in off highway (preferable) or on highway vehicles
*Industry standards experience (EN60204-1 Safety Testing - Machinery/Industrial Equipment, ISO14990 Electrical safety of earth moving machines)
