Competency and Development Coordinator
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Contractor Duration: October to year end - extension likely

The Competency and Development Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the training requirements for the West Coast Region. Working with stakeholders, coordinating training and administrative support. Delivering the annual training plan, supporting the development and maturity of the competency framework, ensuring all training and development is linked to roles within the region. To ensure the competency of their people in region is fully auditable.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:
*Overall responsible for the monitoring, coordination and organisation of all training and offshore medical requirements for the West Coast Region, long term planning and within year planning.
*Booking of training and medicals for all staff operating in the West Coast Region as identified in the training matrix and plan.
*Liaising with Sites, Regional Support and Schedulers to ensure training is booked and aligns with Stakeholder expectations.
Forecast of future training budgets approx. 5 years lookahead to support the Regional people strategies and personnel development plans for all people.
*Delivery of the in year approved training plan. Highlighting risks as they arise and supporting with mitigation plans. Book all training in line with budget and training plan in year, ensuring joining instructions, attendance to training is tracked along with feedback, all in a standardised manner.
*Organisation of training bookings, dealing with queries, uploading safe storage of certificates and maintaining the recording training on matrices and SAP (CMF) Organise new starter training Liaising with managers and planners when organising training, providing standardised governance within the process.
*Raising Purchase Requisitions in line with contracts and budgets
*Liaison with key training providers and their Senior L&D specialist
*Facilitate the monthly training and Competency meeting, this includes issue of the monthly
*training pack, update of performance indicators, chairing the meeting in line with
*Stakeholder and Sponsor expectations.
*Ensure all Training is recorded and captured in a standardised and user friendly way.
Requirements:
*have project or resource planning experience or have qualifications in this field
*are IT literate (Microsoft Office suite etc.) with knowledge and experience of SAP
*have knowledge of and experience with planning and scheduling tools and techniques
*speak and write English fluently
*excel at both teamwork and autonomous work.
