Position: Secrets Management Service Engineer
Our client, a leading company in the [specific sector], is seeking a skilled Secrets Management Service Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the on-premise Secrets Management Service (SSMS) based on HashiCorp Vault - Enterprise edition. You will work with various tools, processes, and technologies to ensure the availability, security, and performance of the SSMS infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance & Upgrades: Develop, test, and perform OS and software upgrades for SSMS. Prepare for and conduct business continuity activities while addressing system vulnerabilities.
Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues that could potentially impact the availability of SSMS and its Vault infrastructure.
Collaboration & Integration: Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to maintain, enhance, and integrate SSMS with the broader ecosystem, including MS-AD, monitoring, backup, SIEM, and more.
Documentation & Runbook Management: Maintain a detailed runbook for the Secret Management service infrastructure, and work with administrators to enhance the administrator guide.
Application Onboarding & Support: Assist application teams with onboarding digital secrets, including reviewing environments for authentication methods, secrets engine onboarding, compliance reporting, policy review, and end-to-end lifecycle management.
Customer Guide Maintenance: Maintain and update a customer guide for application teams to use for future onboarding actions.
Service Expansion & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to expand services, improve visibility, and assist new application teams with the adoption and automation of services.
Reporting & Accountability: Regularly provide key metrics, deliverables, and reports, ensuring the team meets performance standards.
On-call Support: Participate in on-call rotations for system support.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in Engineering/Operating Solutions in Full HA Environments:
1-3 years of experience across multiple data centers.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault - Enterprise Edition:
1-3 years of experience.
RHEL System Administration:
RHEL 8: 3 years of experience.
RHEL 9: 1 year of experience.
Experience with Infrastructure and Configuration Management as Code (Terraform):
1-3 years of experience.
DevOps Tools & Practices:
3 years of experience with DevOps and DevOps tools like Jira, Git, Jenkins, etc.
Experience with Python:
1-3 years of experience.
Experience with REST-API:
3 years of experience.
Scripting (e.g., Bash) for Automation:
1-3 years of experience.
Experience with SELinux:
Experience with Splunk and Splunk Query Creation:
Additional Information:
On-call Rotation: Participation in an on-call rotation is required as part of this role to support the infrastructure.
