APPLICATION SUPPORT - BUSINESS TESTING - CENTRAL BIRMINGHAM

A great opportunity has arisen for our client based in central Birmingham for an Application Support / Tester to work on a permanent basis. The role is based around confilct changes in Applications, diagnosing problems, talking to the business, using scripts to test the changes given to you. This is the ideal job for a 2nd or 3rd Line Application Support analyst who is looking for the next step in their career and has been involved in Testing (however small) before.

For example, your role may currently be within Application Support where you have raised issues as problems to the development team and the development team have fixed the problem and asked you to test the fix applied to see if the issue has been resolved.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Application Support / Test Analyst is responsible for supporting and testing software updates and enhancements to applications that are used by the client, working with development teams, project managers, end users and other groups to ensure some or all criteria of testing are fulfilled before system changes "go live"

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in testing of business applications including Inprotech, DMS and Portal

  • Test changes to application software, letter content and Inprotech rules/configuration changes

  • Respond to and investigate Workflow Feedback queries raised by users in the firm

  • Prepare, assist and maintain test plans and test scripts

  • Ensure work is carried out and prioritised in accordance with the schedule

  • Ensure Testing issue logs are updated accurately with relevant information

  • Identify any risks to work undertaken and report them to their line manager

  • Demonstrate issues accurately to development/build teams

  • Work with users to gather test requirements and to establish an understanding of relevant processes

  • Liaise and provide feedback to development/build teams, project managers, suppliers and other stakeholders
