TEST ANALYST - APPLICATIONS - APPLICATION SUPPORT -

A great opportunity has arisen for our client based in central Birmingham for an Application Tester to work on a permanent basis. The successful candidate should have experience of both Regression and Functional testing. The candidate they are looking for should be able to follow functional and regression scripts already prepared. They would also want you to be able to bring new ideas to the scripts that they currently have in place.

From a testing experience point of view, you need to demonstrate that in your previous roles, you've had exposure to application testing. The client are not looking for a candidate that has testing experience in IT specific testing such as networking, performance or server-based testing. For example, your role may currently be within Application Support where you have raised issues as problems to the development team and the development team have fixed the problem and asked you to test the fix applied to see if the issue has been resolved. Another example would be where you are already a Test Analyst where issues that have been raised are assigned to you to test

To reiterate, Application testing is key. They would like the candidate to have experience in testing in areas such as bespoke Web-based Client Portal testing or any other bespoke application that has been developed in-house. If you can demonstrate how you have tested issues and what relationships they have within the business for these issues to be fixed, that would be ideal.
