Offshore wind farm operator needs a cable protection system Engineer for a twelve-month contract. Flexible workplace or working from home however, consultant must be available to London office when it is required by the project team or by the line management.

Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for the engineering of cable protection systems (CPSs). You'll be interacting directly with the CPS supplier and different internal stakeholders to manage relevant interfaces.

Duties

*Managing the design, manufacturing, and testing (quality assurance) of cable protection systems (CPSs) and related interfaces
*Ensuring that the CPS supply package is on time, on budget, and, most importantly, in compliance with the technical requirements and highest quality standards
*Ensuring that the proposed technical solution is in line with international standards, internal best practices, and contractual requirements
*Reviewing designs and supplier technical proposals and ensuring the suitability of technical solutions across all functional areas (installation, foundations, scour protection, cable supply, etc.)
*Managing interfaces with internal and external stakeholders
*Supporting the procurement team in evaluating the technical compliance of various CPS in terms of design, testing, installing and reliability of the CPS to protect the cable system during its lifetime
*Oversee and review Ultimate Limit State (ULS) and Fatigue Limit State (FLS) analysis of the cable system.

Travel

*Travel locations - UK, Denmark, France, Norway, Germany and locations to be confirmed by the Project. Consultant shall ensure relevant visa is in place prior to the travel. Travel costs will be reimbursed

Requirements:

*have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
*have extensive experience working for a cable protection system supplier, an umbilical supplier, an oil and gas company or a consultancy company
*have detailed knowledge of ULS/FLS analysis and ISO standards for polyurethane-based bend stiffeners/restrictors and buoyancy modules
*have in depth knowledge of Orcaflex and fatigue assessments of subsea flexibles
*have a proven background in both technical and commercial aspects related to dynamic cables/umbilical's/pipelines/risers, protection systems and buoyancy modules
*have a proactive and systematic approach to the technical tasks across the department have an international mindset
*are an excellent communicator and speak and write English fluently
