I am currently partnering with a client based in Guildford, Surrey who are recruiting for an Embedded Software Engineer on an initial 6 month contract. This role has been classified as being Inside IR35 and therefore candidates will be required to work via an Umbrella company.
Key duties will include:
Development of complex real-time applications to meet customer requirements and interfaces
Ability to capture requirements and deliver software within tight timeframes
Ensure effective plans are in place to deliver software in accordance with the schedule and PA/QA requirements of the project
Ensure risks to the development are identified, managed and communicated to Projects and Engineering
Involvement in internal software peer reviews
Other activities as delegated
Skills/Experience:
Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computing or similar subject
Embedded C
Experience developing real time systems using VxWorks / RT Linux / Bare board
Knowledge / appreciation of digital electronics
Knowledge of SPARC, ARM architectures preferable
Knowledge of CAN, Serial and IP communication protocols
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Decision making and creative problem solving skills
Highly organised with clear communication skills
Able to work autonomously and using own initiative
