Mission Overview
As a Designer Specialist Expertise Secondary Systems, you will contribute to the development of standards and designs applied across critical infrastructure projects. This role involves working with electrical equipment related to protection, control, automation, and measurement systems within high-voltage installations.
You will be part of a dynamic engineering team responsible for ensuring high-quality, precise designs that comply with the latest technical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and verify standard drawings and designs ("typicals") provided by suppliers.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of electrical equipment when required.
Create and update electrical symbols and diagrams in AutoCAD based on supplier documentation.
Prepare and/or review standard plans including protection block diagrams and detailed schematic diagrams, adhering to concept notes, internal standards, approved equipment, and methodologies.
Manage personal workload and priorities effectively to meet project deliverables.
Maintain and update all standards and tools, including those that use Excel macros/VBA, for the secondary systems domain.
Design or improve additional Excel-based tools as needed.
Candidate Profile
Education:
Professional Bachelor's degree in Energy Technology, Electromechanics, Electronics, or a related field.
Equivalent practical experience is considered.
Note: An engineering master's degree may be considered overqualified for this position.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
Solid foundational knowledge of electricity principles and applications.
Proficient ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical diagrams and schemes.
Strong experience with AutoCAD for drafting electrical symbols and plans.
Good command of Windows Office applications, including Excel.
Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good working knowledge of English for communication with international suppliers.
Willingness to specialize and develop expertise in secondary electrical systems over time.
Excellent communication skills, customer-focused mindset, and team-oriented approach.
Proactive, organized, flexible, and assertive work style.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Enthusiasm for emerging technologies in a fast-evolving energy sector.
Willingness to travel occasionally for short periods abroad to attend Factory Acceptance Tests.
