Introduction
Our client in the telecommunications sector is looking to temporarily reinforce its Data Protection Office with a highly skilled Privacy Compliance Specialist. The ideal candidate is experienced in data protection legislation, GDPR compliance, and data protection management, and will support the organization in ensuring alignment with applicable privacy laws.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing the company's compliance with data protection legislation and identifying potential risks of non-compliance; report findings to executive leadership.
Analyse and evaluate the privacy compliance of external parties entering partnerships with the organization.
Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on specific privacy-related business queries.
Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of the group's privacy policy framework, including guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Support and contribute to internal privacy awareness campaigns and training initiatives.
Draft responses to data subject requests, as well as inquiries from regulatory and official bodies (e.g., DPA, BIPT).
Assist in managing data breaches and preparing reports for executive-level stakeholders.
Support the execution and follow-up of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
Advise on privacy compliance in data-driven projects across departments.
Assist affiliated entities within the group in adhering to the privacy governance framework.
Contribute to the definition and alignment of data strategy with privacy and data valorisation goals.
Monitor regulatory developments and evolving jurisprudence in data protection law, translating changes into practical compliance measures.
Profile Requirements
Master's degree in Law or Information Security (or equivalent by experience) with a privacy-related certification (e.g., IAPP, CIPP).
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data protection and data security. Experience in the telecommunications sector is an asset.
Strong knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection laws.
Proven experience with GDPR implementation projects.
Digital and privacy-oriented mindset, with a passion for regulatory developments.
Interest in and understanding of IT security concepts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure without compromising quality.
Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented with strong integrity and discipline.
Recognized team player with a diplomatic and open-minded approach, upholding confidentiality at all times.
Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French, and English.
