About Our Client
Our client, a leading company in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sector, combines deep domain expertise with innovative technology to deliver critical insights across the pharmaceutical lifecycle. From removing barriers to patient access to accelerating clinical development and unlocking real-world data, they empower decision-makers with the intelligence they need-right when they need it.
Formed through the integration of several industry-leading entities, the company brings together a powerful ecosystem dedicated to transforming healthcare through data-driven decision-making and cutting-edge AI solutions.
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Scientist with a strong passion for Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, and traditional machine learning. This is a hands-on, impactful role where you'll work across the full machine learning lifecycle-from prototyping and experimentation to deployment and production.
You will collaborate with AI engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to build intelligent systems that deliver next-generation insights and capabilities for the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop NLP and generative AI solutions using modern LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or model APIs/SDKs like OpenAI, Anthropic, or HuggingFace.
Build and fine-tune traditional machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, etc.).
Develop robust and scalable AI pipelines and production APIs using Python and FastAPI.
Deploy models using AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and S3, with attention to CI/CD, observability, and cost-efficiency.
Apply strong system design principles to create scalable, maintainable, and secure ML architectures.
Analyze complex problems, identify edge cases, and develop pragmatic, data-driven solutions.
Explore innovative techniques and technologies that expand the capabilities of the AI/ML team.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into technically sound AI solutions.
Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of industry experience in data science or machine learning.
Solid foundation in NLP, LLMs, and generative AI, with hands-on experience in both theoretical and practical applications.
Experience with modern LLM stacks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
Proficient in traditional ML using tools such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.
Expert-level Python skills-you write clean, modular, and testable code beyond Jupyter notebooks.
Experience building production-ready APIs with frameworks like FastAPI.
Strong understanding of cloud deployment, especially on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3).
Familiarity with MLOps/DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead projects independently from concept to deployment.
Self-starter who thrives in a remote-first, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
Why Join?
You'll be part of a fast-growing team at the forefront of AI innovation in pharma. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful problems, influence technical strategy, and build cutting-edge solutions that have real-world impact on healthcare outcomes.
