Job Overview:
Our client in the Energy Sector is seeking an Engineer Structures Calculations to join their Engineering department. This role focuses on high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects (380, 220, 150, 70, and 36 kV) and involves the engineering, study, and design of high-voltage lines and their supporting towers and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
Conduct studies and designs for new high-voltage towers and modifications to existing structures.
Perform specialized calculations, prepare drafts, and manage the study timelines, considering client specifications and requirements.
Technical Support and Collaboration:
Assist designers in creating calculation models for both in-house use and external design agencies.
Provide technical support during on-site implementations and preparation, working closely with project managers, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
Documentation and Procurement:
Prepare tender documents and participate in the procurement process.
Oversee the production and delivery of towers and structures at manufacturing or testing facilities.
Quality Assurance and Optimization:
Monitor quality management, conduct inspections, and generate reports.
Contribute to the optimization of calculation methodologies within the software tools used by the team.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Physics.
Recent graduates with relevant academic training or mid-level professionals with experience in steel structures will both be considered.
Experience and Technical Skills:
Interest or experience in steel structures, with an understanding of technical and detailed structural studies.
Proficiency in engineering software, including 3D modeling and finite element analysis.
Familiarity with Eurocodes and other relevant industry standards.
Additional experience with tools like MS Project, VB.NET, VBA scripting, and Fortran is a plus.
Languages:
Internal Communication: Fluent in Dutch or French, with a basic understanding of the other national language.
External Communication: Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
Personal Competencies:
Strong organizational skills and a high sense of responsibility.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Experience in expertise and/or engineering activities is advantageous.
