Job Title:
Seasoned Finance Expert in Capital and Normative Analysis
Company Overview:
Our client, a leading player in the banking sector, is looking for a seasoned finance expert to join their Finance Accounting & Reporting team. This team is responsible for producing, controlling, and analyzing both external and internal financial reports across the bank's solo and consolidated perimeter under IFRS and/or Belgian GAAP. The role also covers liquidity and solvency reporting, with an emphasis on analytical and financial accounting, regulatory reporting, and collaboration with the wider financial community.
Mission Context:
As a Finance expert, you will be a key player in producing, monitoring, and analyzing financial performance, providing insights on the profitability, liquidity, and solvency of the business. You will ensure compliance with the evolving IFRS and Belgian GAAP standards and regulatory frameworks (CRD, CRR, BRRD).
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Performance Analysis: Monitor, analyze, interpret, and comment on key financial performances (profitability, solvency, balance sheet, liquidity) for the entities within the controlled perimeter.
Reporting: Contribute to the production of quarterly financial and analytical reports (comprehensive and executive versions), highlighting performance trends compared to previous years and budgets.
Accounting Standards: Stay updated with IFRS and Belgian GAAP standards, draft implementation guidance, and ensure compliance with group accounting policies.
Project Involvement: Participate in projects related to the implementation of new accounting standards.
Advisory Role: Provide ad-hoc advice on the accounting treatment of new products, activities, or one-off transactions in collaboration with the group's finance team.
Stakeholder Communication: Inform the finance community and other stakeholders about relevant evolutions in accounting standards through newsletters, presentations, and training sessions.
Training: Organize and deliver training on accounting standards (IFRS & Belgian GAAP) for the finance community.
Committee Representation: Prepare the representation in Febelfin Accounting Committee and co-represent the client in the Prudential Affairs Coordination Committee of the group.
Regulatory Monitoring: Track and monitor changes in regulatory frameworks related to prudential norms (CRD, CRR) and resolution (BRRD).
Capital Planning: Support the production of multi-year regulatory capital planning (budget) with quarterly updates and recommend capital management actions.

Languages:
Dutch: Good
French: Good
English: Excellent (Working Language)
Education:
University degree, Master's level (Business Engineer, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent by experience).
Experience:
Mandatory:
At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting.
Expert knowledge of IFRS and financial/prudential reporting.
Strong understanding of the regulatory frameworks (CRD, CRR, BRRD).
Preferred:
Experience with banking tools and financial processes.
Project management experience.
Consolidation experience.
Business Expertise:
Strong understanding of the banking sector and its business models.
Ability to challenge and analyze financial figures to deliver high-quality reports.
Soft Skills:
Autonomous, proactive, and able to propose process improvements.
Flexible and organized, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Analytical mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Diplomatic, critical thinker, and able to distinguish between core and peripheral issues.
