Fusion Power Engineer, Gloucestershire
My client, a systems and engineering technology consultancy is looking for a motivated and experienced professional engineer to support the growth of their Nuclear Fusion activities. Bringing a combination of sought after skills and a wider knowledge of the nuclear industry, the successful candidate will spend their time solving exciting technical challenges for their clients, all of whom are working towards the realisation of a commercial fusion device in the next 20 years. Some of the technical disciplines for this role include:
*Design and manufacture of safety critical systems
*Fission plant design, manufacture and/or operational experience
*Tritium management
*Neutronics
*Plasma physics
*Superconducting magnet technology
*Cryogenics
*Vacuum systems
*High temperature materials
*Advanced technique appreciation (joining, materials, fabrication, etc.)
The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:
*Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related discipline
*An established position within the nuclear industry
*Be a strong team player but with the ability to work under minimal supervision
*Proactive personality
*Experience of the fusion industry
*Previous consultancy experience
*Experience in writing proposals, client liaison and business development
*Have Chartered Engineer status
The ideal candidate must be highly proactive and results focused with the ability to influence others within the team. They need to have a proven ability to achieve business' targets and possess strong technical problem-solving skill. A self-motivated individual who can work both individually and as part of a team.
