To contribute to Europe and Belgium's ambitions for the Energy Transition, our client has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid. The grid shall connect the new Belgian wind farms situated within the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone".


General Info of the assignment:

The project currently progresses in the concept and design phase. For the investigation of an energy island, our client is looking for a dredging and offshore infrastructure engineer.



Service expectations:

The Project Engineer SERVICE

Reports to the Island Delivery Manager/ Program manager
Works in a dedicated multidisciplinary team together with, amongst others, project engineers, procurements officers, HSE experts, PMO officer, …
You support the development of the MOG2 project during all phases
Contribute in the creation of an energy island concept in close cooperation with external island designers to relevant design codes
Review, challenge and cooperate island concept deliverables and include relevant dredging and marine infrastructure experiences
Provide engineering input in all project stages from design until construction
Technical assistance during tendering (review technical offers in detail and participate in technical negotiations)
Technical assistance during detailed island design in cooperation with the EPCI contractor to protect interests
Prepare documentation (creation of technical specifications, requirements,…)
Share relevant experiences with other island streams (cable team, substation team, civil works, etc.)


You have 5-7 years of practical working experience
Experience in the offshore/dredging sector is a must
Experience with maritime/caisson structures is a plus


Education: Civil engineer, marine engineer, or equivalent (Master)
Vereniging van Waterbouwers VOUW training is a plus


Working structured, independent and precise
Capable of analysing and defining dredging projects, assess offers and methodologies
In addition to dredging projects, you are also interested to be involved in or have experience in geotechnical/hydraulic/civil design of marine structures.
It is an asset if you can also demonstrate knowledge and experience on one or more of the following topics : offshore cable pull ins; environmental impact of reclamation works and how to mitigate; metoceon studies; hydromorphic studies
You look for creative/innovative solutions rather than just 'output' and you like to generate innovative ideas to support the project
You have a great analytical ability to challenge design and analyses from third parties
You are a resourceful accountable team player
A quick learner
Good writing skills
Excellent MS Office skills

Languages:

Fluent in English and Dutch, French is a plus


Duration of the project:

Starting immediately à end of 2022 - Extension possible


Working hours & workplace:

Full time
5 days a week in Brussels
Preferably full time resident in Belgium
Possible short business trips to contractors, vendors, clients,…
