I'm working with a Start-Up Biotech who are bringing new technology and revolutionising the way genomic data is used in disease research. Their technology captures chromosome structure and enables a higher dimension of insight into the mechanisms of human disease, resulting in 30% of cancer patients finding a diagnosis.

The right candidate will drive innovation through new methods to derive actionable insights from chromosome conformation data and leverage ML or other tools to build highly accurate classifiers from chromosome conformation and other genomic data for translational applications.

Role: Senior Bioinformatician

Responsibilities:
Algorithm development to create novel analysis tools for HiC and HiC related data and their integration with other genomics data types
Benchmark tools and algorithms to determine the most accurate methods for analysing data
Create user friendly pipelines geared toward customer enablement
Mentor junior employees and collaborate effectively with peers, cross-functional teams and mangers across the organization
Participate in R&D lab meetings, fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, while maintaining an awareness for technology commercialization and product development
Contribute analysis, and writing for research proposals, patent applications, SOPs, user guides, and technical notes as necessary.


Requirements:
Knowledge of a variety of Genomic Data
Hands-on experience and proven proficiencies working with bioinformatics analysis of NGS data
Proficiency in R/Python/Perl/C/BASH, or other
Demonstrated ability to drive research projects in a team environment
Experience with version control tools such as Git is preferred
Ph.D. or Master's degree with 2-5 years industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or other related scientific field
