Job Title: Taxonomy & Metadata Engineer
Employment Type: Part-time (30 hours/week)
Location: Netherlands (Remote work option available)
Project Duration: 16 weeks (approx. 50% availability over 4 months)

Job Description:
Our client, a leading company in the retail sector, is seeking a highly skilled Taxonomy & Metadata Engineer to assist in a key project focused on defining and enhancing product data taxonomies. This role will work cross-functionally with taxonomists, semantic knowledge experts, and content engineers to create better product category associations and improve product relationships. The focus will be on bed textiles and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the facilitation and prioritization of the design and implementation of taxonomy and semantic strategies.
Establish taxonomy models using Semantic Web standards for prioritized domains and use cases.
Conduct data collection, research, analysis, and implementation to improve product data structures.
Support data mapping and transformation to establish logic for data and content transformation.
Domain model development for bedding and textiles.
Create an ontology of business rules to describe functional and aesthetic associations for product types.
Encode associations for bed textiles in a knowledge graph and enhance product data taxonomically.
Collaborate with the consuming experience team(s) to ensure data usability and alignment with business objectives.
Required Skills & Experience:
Expertise in Semantic Web technologies and standards.
Proven experience in building and implementing taxonomy models.
Strong knowledge of data collection, analysis, and transformation methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including taxonomists and content engineers.
Experience with ontology creation and managing knowledge graphs.
Familiarity with retail product categorization and aesthetics, especially related to textiles, is a plus.
Project Overview:
This project involves defining taxonomies for bed textiles and aesthetics to create improved category logic and product relationships. By establishing taxonomic models and encoding associations, the goal is to enhance product data and facilitate better usability for the client's retail business.

No travel is required for this role, and it is fully remote with flexible hours to accommodate approximately 50% availability over the 16-week project timeline.
